Cabycal provides an infrared oven to Istobal
Valencia, July 19th 2018.- Cabycal has designed, manufactured and asembly an infrared (IR) gas oven, also known as gelling zone, for Istobal, a leading company in the design and manufacture of solutions for the automotive sector. This IR oven has been adapted to the existing convection oven by combining a mixed system by intelligent control.
This IR short wave heating area aims to improve the powder coating application line that Cabycal installed in the Istobal plant in 2009. Among the advantages of the new system is the increase in speed of the production, the rise of the temperature of pieces with high thickness and the elimination of the contamination of colors in the polymerized oven. In addition, the space occupied has been minimized since the system has been installed between the paint booth and the entrance to the existing polymerization oven.
The new system allows the recognition of the dimensions of the frame thanks to a parts reader located before the gelling zone. Depending on the information collected by these measurement barriers, the IR carriage automatically approach or move away from the frame with an accuracy of 5 millimeters. In addition, the automation of this system also allows the activation of only the infrared plates of the area of the frame in which parts have been detected (upper zone or lower zone), which gives an important saving of energy for the client.
Istobal is the leading Spanish company in the design, manufacture and marketing of automotive washing solutions. They export their products to more than 75 countries, have seven subsidiaries and two assembly plants in Europe and two other subsidiaries and assembly plants in the US and Brazil.
Cabycal provides an improved booth to Hilding Anders
Valencia, June 28th 2018.- Cabycal has worked with the Swedish company Hilding Anders in the improvement of its paint installation located in its factory in Carlet (Valencia). To do this, Cabycal has supplied the multinational with a booth with a high performance cyclone, a filtration module and a humidification blowing system for its pretreatment line.
The new system allows to change color more quickly and eliminate residual powder inside the booth thanks to its antistatic walls. Other benefits of the equipment implemented by Cabycal are: maximum efficiency and performance of the paint application, high performance of the cyclone in the recovery and protection of the booth lighting for compliance with ATEX regulation.
Cabycal has previously worked with companies in the furniture sector. Some of its most relevant clients in this sector have been Dupen, Actiu, Mobiltac, Formas Descanso, Cocinas Carbel and Navarro Azorín, among others.
Hilding Anders is one of the largest manufacturers of sleep systems (beds and mattresses) in Europe. Among its main clients is the Swedish multinational Ikea. Nowadays, Hilding Anders has presence in more than 15 European countries, including Spain, due to the acquisition in 2006 of the Valencian company Somilar.
Cabycal supplies a pressurized and heated booth to GKN Driveline
Valencia, June 4th, 2018.- Cabycal has designed, manufactured and installed a pressurized and heated booth with a temperature and humidity control unit for the automotive division of the British company GKN in its Pinta del Bajío plant in Celaya (Mexico). This system will keep clean and in the best conditions the environment where the application of power paint will be made.
The booth, which is already being assembled at the GKN plant, has a temperature control unit prepared to work at a minimum temperature of -4ºC and a maximum temperature of 46ºC. Regarding the humidity control, it is composed by a multistage equipment that includes 4 phases: dehumidification, heating, adiabatic humidification and ventilation.
With this project Cabycal highlights the speed and capacity of reaction and response in an international market so saturated and so competitive as the Mexican market.
GKN designs and manufactures systems and components for most of the world's leading aircraft, vehicle and machinery manufacturers. Founded more than 250 years ago, it has three divisions: GKN Aerospace, GKN Driveline and GKN Powder Metallurgy with joint ventures in more than 30 countries.
Cabycal will supply a liquid painting line to Sofitec
Valencia, February 22nd 2018.- Cabycal will design, manufacture and install a pre-treatment and painting line for the aerospace company Sofitec. This line will paint aeronautic parts in its new plant in Seville, which will be dedicated to automated surface processes and logistics management. With this new plant Sofitec expects to increase its annual production by 30%.
The line that Cabycal is designing will be composed of a robotic automatic painting booth with recirculation flow, a pressurized cabin painting booth, a flash-off zone (pre evaporated), a curing oven and a clean room that it also is the download area. The line is scheduled to start working in the second quarter of 2018.
This line joins others that Cabycal has designed for the aeronautical sector. For Emilio Ferrando, General Director of Cabycal, the projects for the aerostructures sector "are a big challenge since the level of demand is very high. This installation is characterized by combining automatically the anodized with the painting without having to pick up the parts from the rack until the end of the process".
Sofitec is an international aerospace company specialized in the development of integral solutions for the manufacture and assembly of metal and composite aerostructures. Sofitec's clients include Airbus Group, Bombardier, Embraer, Spirit Aerosystems, Premium Aerotec and Facc.
Cabycal delivers an automated passivation line of aluminum parts to Gestamp
Valencia, January 29th 2018.- Cabycal has designed, manufactured and installed a passivation line for aluminum parts for the Gestamp plant in Newton Aycliffe (England).
The pretreatment process of the pieces is carried out in a total of nine tanks, in which the following process is carried out: degreasing, washing with industrial water, acid for the passivation process and washing with demineralized water.
After the immersion process in the tanks, automatic drying takes place inside a convection oven with recirculation and heating with a burner with natural gas.
The pieces are transported throughout the process by three automatic overhead travelling cranes, a power & free conveyor and two transfer systems to transfer the parts of the conveyor to the bridge cranes and vice versa.
Cabycal has previously supplied three e-coat lines to Gestamp for its factories in Zaragoza (Spain), Wroclaw (Poland) and Chattanooga (USA).
Cabycal provides Proplast with a new coating line
Valencia, 5th December 2017.- Cabycal has designed, manufactured and install a liquid paint line for the Mexican company Proplast. This line, in operation since July, paints plastic components of household appliances in its facilities located in El Marqués (Querétaro).
The process consists of manual loading of the pieces, a painting stage, which is made by an operator inside a pressure-controlled booth with a water curtain and an automatic sludge separation system, a curing stage made in a forced convection oven, a natural convection cooling stage and an manual unloading stage.
The automatic sludge separation system keeps the water clear of paint residues, which gives the installation a low maintenance and high efficiency. The handling (transportation) of pieces is done by a monorail aerial conveyor, that works in a step by step programmed motion.
Proplast is a 100% Mexican company with 12 years of experience in the manufacture of plastic components and injection mold maintenance. Proplast production center is located in Querétaro and from there the company offers its products and services throughout Mexico.

Cabycal implements Siemens 3D design software
Spanish engineering is already working with NX 11 for the development of its new projects
Valencia, February 6th 2017.- Since the beginning of 2017, Cabycal has been using Siemens NX 11 software as a platform for the design of all the painting and surface treatment lines developed by the engineering team of the Spanish firm. The implementation of Siemens software is part of Cabycal's Strategic Plan for 2017. One of the objectives of this plan is the consolidation and implementation of the most current software tools for product modeling and design.
Emilio Ferrando, Managing Director of Cabycal, explains that “the commitment to the implantation of Siemens NX responds mainly to two factors: the increasing complexity of the products we design and the high demand of our clients who come from sectors such as automotive and aeronautics , among others. Companies in these sectors seek excellence for their production process ”.
With the implementation of Siemens NX 11 software, Cabycal has optimized and streamlined the development process of its projects, which translates into highly complex and completely innovative products developed to meet the specific production needs of each client. In addition, with NX 11 design has become a faster, more flexible and efficient process and virtual simulations and analyzes are very useful for decision making.
