Valencia, July 22nd 2015.- Cabycal has been chosen by the multinational company Gestamp to design, develop and produce the cataphoresis line that will paint frames and other structural components for the new Volkswagen SUV in Chattanooga (Tennessee).
Cabycal’s plant will consist of a 17-station pre-treatment and cataphoresis system and an automated handling and transportation system supplied by P&F. This line, designed to paint a wide range of metal parts as well as the critical surfaces of steel car components, will be put into operation at the end of April 2016.
Cabycal has already supplied Gestamp with a similar pre-treatment and cataphoresis system for its plant in Zaragoza. The success of this first project consolidated the relationship of the two Spanish companies, which are currently working on another project in Poland.
The Volkswagen Chattanooga plant, on the other hand, started production in 2011 and is currently devoted to the construction of the new Passat saloon, designed for the North American market. In July 2014, however, it was announced that it will produce a new midsize sport utility vehicle.
