Surface Pre-Treatment Systems

Achieve a superior finish on your metal components with our surface pre-treatment systems.

Surface Treatment Systems and Tunnels

To achieve the surface treatment quality required by customers and to comply with the most demanding surface coating standards on the market (such as Qualicoat, GSB, AAMA, ISO, etc.), it is essential that parts to be coated first undergo a specific pre-treatment process, depending on the type of material (steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, plastic, etc.).

Surface treatment of metal parts is critical to ensure proper adhesion and long-term durability of the final coating. This process includes several stages, such as degreasing, pickling, and the application of base layers that prepare the metal surface for subsequent coatings. Through an appropriate surface pre-treatment, corrosion protection is optimized and the aesthetic appearance of the final product is significantly improved.

Functions of Surface Treatment

The functions of surface cleaning and pre-treatment processes are numerous and essential to guarantee the quality and durability of finished products. Proper surface treatment not only improves the aesthetic appearance but also enhances performance and extends the service life of treated components. In addition, these processes ensure that parts comply with strict industrial and quality standards.

  • Removal of external contaminants (ambient dust, machining oils, storage corrosion, etc.).

  • Preparation of the surface for coating application / molecular activation.

  • Improvement of adhesion for subsequent coatings.

  • Increased corrosion resistance and extended component lifespan.

  • Compliance with construction and industry standards for each coated part.

To achieve maximum quality and a flawless finish, it is essential to have an efficient surface treatment tunnel adapted to your specific needs.
At Cabycal, we tailor our systems to the individual requirements of each client.

Pre-Treatment Stages for Plastic Parts

In the case of plastic components, pre-treatment stages largely depend on production volume and the industry in which they are used.

For small production volumes, treatments are typically performed manually using cloths and solvents. However, for industrial and automotive applications, automated continuous processes with robotic systems are developed (for example: dashboards, rear-view mirrors, central consoles, etc.).

The most commonly used technologies include:

Sanding and solvent cleaning

Cryogenic cleaning
(dry ice)

Flame activation

Plasma cleaning and activation (atmospheric or vacuum)

Surface deionization

Depending on each customer’s requirements, Cabycal is capable of developing a wide range of industrial surface pre-treatment and treatment lines, together with process water production systems (demineralized, deionized, filtration and heating systems), as well as drying ovens.

To ensure process quality and effectiveness, the degreasing tunnel is a key component in plastic part installations. This system enables deep cleaning of components, ensuring they are fully prepared for subsequent treatment stages and compliant with the most demanding industry quality standards.
